This week I've hit a milestone I'm very proud of - completing my first year as an NME photographer. It's had it's highs and one or two lows, but ultimately it's a break I'm massively grateful for. It's given me the much-needed challenge I was after, getting back to basics and pushing me to get the best possible shots in much tougher conditions.
It takes a while for the phrase "it's Danny from the NME" to sink in as something relatively normal to say, but I've become more confident in myself as a photographer and that's resulted in me getting some work I'm really, really proud of.
I've also had the privilege of meeting some really cool people along the way, too - fellow photographers, writers, PR folk, tour managers, photo editors, fans, and - of course - bands.
