Rosenthal Press Shoot

Headed down to Sheffield to spend a couple of hours with Danish singer-songwriter Rosenthal to shoot some press shots for his latest EP, Heart.

We based our first shoot at the colossal Park Hill abandoned council estate above Sheffield Station, which made for quite an eclectic backdrop. We also found a rather neat bright-yellow mosaic wall, which made for a bright contrast to the otherwise dull, grey tenement block.

After a few different set ups, we drove to the other side of down to get a few more industrial shots in the trendy Kelham Island area.

Throughout the shoot me and Jeppe (his real name) talked at great lengths about his british musical influences, in particular The Cure. We swung by a small coffee shop for a flat white and chatted at great length about the difficulty of making it as a creative - he's a genuinely honest guy, and very easy to talk to. If you get the opportunity to listen to his EP, give it a go. It's a great example of some of the amazing music that continues to come out of Scandinavia, but rarely gets the attention over here that it deserves.
