Fucking about on a boat with a camera, beer and an 80s glam rock soundtrack in the name of contemporary Journalism? Go on then.
NME sent me over to Liverpool the other week for my first "Radar" shoot with Hooton Tennis Club, one of the latest acts to sign to the awesome Heavenly Recordings.
We had two setups planned for the shoot, the first of which involved taking a small boat out onto the Mersey (kinda). The guys were nicely psyched up having spent the first hour or so in a beer terrace on Albert Docks, so by the time we boarded the boat spirits were nice and high - especially with the beer flowing and the 80s hair metal booming out. We did a quick circuit of the dock, and tried a multitude of quick setups.
With daylight fading, we quickly headed to a cobbled path round the back of the Tate to get some textbook 'walking' band shots, and that was pretty much a wrap.
Great days shooting, great lads, definitely worth the trek over. Read the feature on NME here
