Made my annual trip to Bramham Park for the weekend to photograph my seventh consecutive Leeds Festival. The lineup this year was quite diverse - sporting five headliners over the weekend: Biffy Clyro (who headlined two years ago) were joined in a co-headlining capacity with Fall Out Boy on Friday, Foals and Disclosure were very much flying the flag for new headliners in co-headlining slots on Saturday, whilst Red Hot Chili Peppers were the traditional "classic" sunday headliner.
There were some truly epic sets on show. Fall Out Boy were joined by a squad of fire-dancers, Foals, Frank Carter and Imagine Dragons all ended up in the crowd, and Biffy were just, well.. Biffy.
The weather did it's usual best to hamper proceedings with a torrential downpour on Saturday night that took many casualties in the photopit - including BOTH my cameras. However, they were soon back to life and ready to shoot again (huge thanks to Gaz and Neil for helping to fix and providing spares).
The weekend was brought to a close with RHCP being their usual energetic selves, with Flea's countless bounces and facial expressions and Josh's expressive soloing.
Probably the only downside this year (besides the weather) was the introduction of some really, intrusive cameramen who were raised a lot higher than previous years, making the obligatory wide shots that often pepper my collections somewhat of a rareity. Ne'mind.
Was awesome to catch up with some old friends over the weekend, and make some new ones. Also, a huge thanks to Duncan, Paul, Gwen, both Joe's, Harry, Jamie and Alice who made the weekend possible - massively helpful as always :)
