Had the pleasure of hanging out with Billie for a couple of hours in rural North Yorkshire to shoot a feature for the 405.
A brilliant acoustic/folk singer songwriter, Billie's breakthrough came last year with a thoroughly deserved nomination for the BBC Sound of 2016 awards, and has been consistently championed by Huw Stephens.
I met up with Billie at her family home in a picturesque village just outside of Ripon, and after a delightful cup of tea and a chin-wag with Billie and her mum we headed out into the local countryside to do some location shooting. I was keen for the shoot to have a very natural look, so opted to leave the lighting gear behind in favour of making the most of the summer evening light.
Had a right laugh with Billie. It was fascinating listening to her views on the music industry and all that comes with it, and I was pleasantly surprised at just how level-headed she is about the whole thing. It may sound clichéd, but she certainly is wise beyond her years.
