Well this was a bit different! I was offered the chance to shoot the opening night of Taylor Swift's Reputation Tour - her first stadium tour in Europe.
This was one hell of a production - the stage was HUGE, with a giant screen that parted in the middle in front of four huge chimneys that would periodically blast clouds of fire into the Manchester skies. Looking at the footage and pictures on social media after we were ejected, it looked like things got pretty crazy as the night progressed.
The shooting position for this one was a little tricky. We were positioned in the back corner of the 'pitch', which made this the farthest distance I'd shot a gig from, shooting at an eye-watering 600mm. This was the first time I shot a show using a 2x teleconverter on my 300mm lens, so was a little nervous I might take a hit on the sharpness of my shots, but thankfully everything held up fine.
As for 'Taytay' herself - she was extremely animated and very expressive, which helped add some variety to my shots that might have otherwise been lacking shooting from a fixed position so far away.
