I spent a glorious spring morning in Leeds with the guys from LewRey to shoot the press shots to support their latest release, "Never".
We started the day shooting down the Clarence Dock region of Leeds, finding a couple of cool different backdrops. First up a curved corrugated iron silo-cum-building, which matched the look the guys were after, but sadly was in bright sunlight, making squinting and shadows an issue. We moved on to a multicoloured wall that was in shade, so managed to get a nice distribution of light across the shots.
We then moved on to Quarry Hill, shooting at a handful of locations around Leeds College of Music - the highlight of which being a small tunnel beneath the train lines by Leeds' infamous nightclub Stinky's Peep House. The light fell perfectly over the tunnel/bridge, giving some gorgeous light on the guys whilst not over exposing the background.
Was cool to meet the guys and chat about the band. Their focus and ambition is admirable, and having caught them live I wouldn't be surprised if we're seeing them on a bigger stage very soon.
