Got to hang in the studio with my old pals Random Hand, as the ska punk heroes were back from a two year hiatus and needed some up-to-date press shots.
We opted for a studio shoot as the guys wanted a few different options to choose from. We decided on three different coloured backdrops, to give the shots plenty of variety. First up, we went with a very simple white wall set up, as the guys needed some individual shots doing. I asked the guys to try a couple of different stances, with the view to bringing them together using some funky overlays in post processing:
With the individual shots nailed, we set about two different group shot setups. The first, using the same white wall but this coloured yellow using a gelled spot:
The final setup used a red paper backdrop, and some slightly tighter framing to give the shots a bit more of a feel of depth:
Was an absolute hoot to catch up with the guys again - hopefully we won't leave it so long till the next time!
If Facebook is anything to go by, Random Hand are currently rocking out with some Pina Coladas at Mighty Sounds Festival in Prague. Don't believe me? Go check for yourself. While you're there, check out their upcoming tour dates, and if you haven't done already give them a big lovely like.
