Cleopatrick @ Manchester Deaf Institute
My boys Cleopatrick were back in the UK as part of their second European tour - I caught them for a few hours at their sold out show at Manchester's Deaf Institute.
Luke and Ian have gone from strength to strength since I last met up with them on their first tour back in October, garnering plenty of great press attention and steadily building on their initial hype to build a substantial fanbase. But this time round the guys had company for the tour in Ready The Prince - hometown friends on their first European tour as main support.
It was an amazing gig, and the response from the crowd was outstanding - at one point, resulting in huge smash pit. Ready The Prince were great, Cleopatrick were outstanding - what was particularly great to see was how much of Cleopatrick's set was sung back to them from the crowd. Ready The Prince rejoined the stage for a blistering collaborative cover of Arctic Monkey's 'Brianstorm'.
Was an amazing night of awesome music - raucous, electric, and sweaty. Thanks to Luke, Ian, Jake, Vanessa, the guys from Ready The Prince, and their awesome Belgian driver who was cool as f*ck whose name I can't remember. I can't wait to catch these guys again!
Check out the video for cleopatrick's latest video 'sanjake' below, as well as the feature I shot with the guys in the April edition of Come Play With Me.
